Don Ufford Barnstorms the MDP Convention, Focused on Taking on the Political Establishment
But candidates are trying to reach the people who weren’t at the MDP convention this weekend. They’re especially trying to reach working people who have departed from the party in recent years.
“Because I’m not a career politician, and I only know how to talk to people like normal people,” said Don Ufford.
Ufford is a Ford Motor Company engineer from Oakland County who worked with the U.S. Department of Commerce under Joe Biden. He is a newcomer running to represent Michigan’s 11th Congressional District.
“If you’ve been in politics, if you’ve been in Lansing, you’ve taken money,” Ufford said. “I don’t have the baggage.”
