Ufford Does Not Accept Corporate or Utility PAC Money

Oakland County, Michigan — Today, political outsider Don Ufford announced that his campaign has outraised all other Democratic candidates for the second quarter in a row in the race for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District. This continued fundraising success shows that Ufford has the momentum in the race and a message that is resonating with voters across the district. 

“If we want to change Washington, we have to change the types of people we send there. I’m not a career politician. I raised my family here, worked at Ford, and had the chance to give back by serving in the Biden Administration to bring manufacturing jobs home. That gives me a unique perspective on how to campaign and govern. I’m proud that our campaign has never taken a dime from Corporate PACs or Utility Company PACs. We’re doing this the right way and focusing on Michiganders.”

Ufford also has the most individual contributors of any candidate in the race, demonstrating real grassroots support and momentum for the campaign.

“We will win this race by talking to voters directly,” said Mark Goldenberg, Campaign Manager for Ufford for Michigan. “Democratic voters tell us everyday that they want someone who will take on politics as usual and who won’t accept Corporate money. And they’re excited about someone with a background of working in the auto industry, serving in the Biden Administration, and raising a family here.”

Ufford laid out his reform agenda for the campaign:

• End Corporate PAC Contributions to Politicians

• Ban Congressional Stock Trading

• Get the Corrupting Influence of Dark Money out of Politics

Ufford concluded, “I’ve pledged to reject all corporate PAC money and refrain from any stock trading during this campaign or while I’m in Congress. I think it’s important that the people of the 11th district know that as their Representative, my sole focus is on serving my constituents, and the community we all call home.”
