Political Outsider Don Ufford Takes The Lead in MI-11 Race
Oakland County, Michigan — With 20 days until the August 4 Democratic primary in Michigan's 11th Congressional District, political outsider Don Ufford's campaign is leading the pack in cash on hand for the first time, demonstrating clear momentum in the race.
Not only does Ufford’s campaign have more money in the bank than Jeremy Moss; Ufford is the only major candidate in the race rejecting Corporate, Utility, and AIPAC money. 1 in every 5 dollars Moss raised in Q2 came from AIPAC shell group Better Blue Fund. And Moss raised $36,000 or more in Q2 through Democracy Engine, AIPAC’s preferred fundraising platform. The contrast in the race has never been more clear: Jeremy Moss is the AIPAC and Corporate PACs candidate; Don Ufford is the grassroots leader in MI-11.
Since launching his campaign in August 2025, Ufford has outraised every other candidate in the race, while being the only major candidate rejecting money from Corporate PACs, Utility PACs, and AIPAC. Ufford has also earned the endorsements of the Detroit News editorial board and Arab American News because of his experience in the auto industry and his commitment to fighting the influence of big money in politics.
Anti-establishment Democrats are winning races across the country because Democratic voters are tired of Corporate PACs and AIPAC choosing their leadership. Ufford's campaign has harnessed that anti-establishment, grassroots energy to build a winning coalition in MI-11.
Fighting For Fairness Tour
Over the past week, Ufford took his Fighting For Fairness tour across the district, making his case directly to voters and to the press. He appeared on CBS Detroit, joined Rev. Horace Sheffield on The Wake Up Call, and sat down with the Oakland County Times. He spent the rest of the week knocking doors and meeting voters in the community, including at Welcome Missionary Baptist Church, Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, and Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
That work is built on a volunteer operation that keeps growing. The campaign has now held more than 50 supporter-hosted events across Oakland County, organized by neighbors who opened their homes to talk about the cost of living, healthcare, and who Washington actually works for.
Out Front on the Issues
Ufford has led on the questions that define this race. He was the first candidate to publicly oppose Trump's war in Iran and has spoken out against it consistently since. He was also the first candidate in the race to refuse Corporate PAC money, Utility PAC money, and AIPAC money.
"If we're going to make life more fair for working people, we cannot keep sending the same old career politicians to Washington. I'm not a career politician. I've spent my life building things as an engineer, raising a family, and serving my community. That means I'm ready to fight back against the influence of big money, and against this Iran War, which is flat-out wrong," said Don Ufford.
Jeremy Moss has taken a different path. Moss has received tens of thousands of dollars from major AIPAC donors, accepted the backing of AIPAC-aligned DMFI, and taken funding from Better Blue Fund, a reported new vehicle for AIPAC-aligned money. Moss also voiced support for Trump's 2025 Iran strikes and, when Trump launched full-scale war in February 2026, called for a report rather than an end to the fighting.
"Don's message of building a fair economy for Michiganders is resonating with voters. In 20 more days, we're going to shock the political establishment and win this race," said Campaign Manager Mark Goldenberg.
